Friday 10 July
The Moondance Foundation have a Covid–19 Relief Fund and are welcoming applications from registered charities who are based and working in Wales or are based outside Wales, for their work in Wales only. They will consider applications for: staff retention; current activities and services in jeopardy; evolution of services to adapt to the current crisis. Their website states: ‘Moondance encourages only those who are truly in need to apply. Please exercise restraint and kindness, keeping in mind that the need is great, and the resources are few.’ To apply please use this link.
Thursday 9 July
The Youth Futures Foundation is awarding resilience grants to registered charities or other not-for-profit, voluntary or community – sector infrastructure organisations. It is inviting applications from:
1. National infrastructure bodies that strengthen the youth and/or employment sector across England for all young people.
2. National or regional infrastructure bodies that strengthen the youth and/or employment sector specifically for young people from Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic backgrounds, including those of Gypsy, Roma & Traveller heritage.
Organisations must be able to demonstrate an impact on their finances as a result of Covid19. The deadline, for a decision by the end of September, is Friday 31 July. Full information can be found on their website through this link .

Wednesday 8 July
The Julia and Hans Rausing Trust have this week launched their £10 million Charity Survival Fund which will provide core funding to small and medium sized charities. Charities must actively operate across one of the trust’s three priority areas: Health and Wellbeing; Welfare and Education; Arts and Culture. Grants from £5,000 – £250,000 are available, dependent on the charity’s annual income. The submission deadline is 5pm on Monday 27 July. Full details are available here.
The Shipwrecked Mariner’s Society have this week also established a £1 million Covid – 19 Response Fund to provide financial support to UK merchant seafarers and fishers affected by the pandemic. For more information please click here.
Tuesday 7 July
The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government has reopened its Domestic Abuse Safe Accommodation: MHCLG COVID-19 Emergency Support Fund. The Ministry secured £10 million for domestic abuse safe accommodation charities of which £8.8 million has been awarded. Bidding has reopened for the remaining £1.2 million on a ‘first come first served’ basis until 20 July. Applicants that applied in the previous bidding window are welcome to reapply if their bid was unsuccessful or if they received funding but have identified additional costs. United in Hammersmith and Fulham is offering grants to locally based not-for-profit organisations who are dealing with the effects of the Covid19 emergency. Project ideas that help others to adjust to social distancing, help people cope with anxiety and help resolve practical consequences of isolation are particularly welcomed. Grants are available from £100 to £1,000. Information and the short application form can be found here.
Monday 6 July
Aviva Community Fund have broadened their criteria, due to the COVID – 19 outbreak, ‘to include applications for projects that enable causes to adapt or continue their vital services by covering core running costs, so they can help their beneficiaries and communities during this time of need.’ For eligible charities funding is available for up to £50,000.
To take part a project must:
- Fall within one of their two key funding areas:
- Community resilience; tackling inequality and improving environments to build more connected, more resilient communities
- Financial Capability and inclusion; giving people the tools to become more financially independent.
- Be raising funds to develop a new approach, product or technology; pilot a new scheme; implement a new initiative; expand existing services to a new area of beneficiary group OR be covering the core running costs of causes looking to adapt or continue their vital services throughout the COVID-19 outbreak.
Application deadline for this round of funding is 28th July.
