DSC is of the view that charities not only have an inherent right to speak up on behalf of their beneficiaries, we are in fact of the view that it is their responsibility to do so. Charities are in a very unique position in society and often know more about the situation of their beneficiaries than government does. It falls on charities then to brief government ministers about the needs on the ground and this often means taking issue with aspects of law and government policy.
