The Smart Energy GB in Communities fund

With energy bills on the rise, the Smart Energy GB in Communities fund provides funding streams for organisations to speak to fuel-poor households and people who struggle with technology – those defined as lacking digital skills – about the vital benefits smart meters could bring. Funds are also available for organisations and groups reaching people who are unpaid carers. Applications must be received by 12 noon Friday, 10th February 2023. Find out more.

Charities Aid Foundation – Keystone Fund

The £3 million Keystone Fund aims to strengthen the organisational capacity and agility of local and regional charities which address social equity in the UK. Unrestricted grants of up to £50,000 are available to charitable organisations in the UK to adapt ways of working, strengthen capacity or build resilience, according to identified needs. Around 50% of the fund will be focussed on organisations supporting refugees in the UK. Other causes supported may include:

  • People experiencing racial inequity
  • People experiencing digital poverty
  • People at risk of homelessness
  • Deaf and disabled people
  • LGBQT+ people

The deadline for stage one applications is midnight on Wednesday 23 November.

Royal British Legion – Crisis Grants

If you or the people you serve are part of the Armed Forces community and need help to meet unexpected expenses, the Royal British Legion may be able to help you. Each year they help thousands of people through emergencies by providing individual crisis grants. Find out more here.

Warm This Winter

As part of the campaign, a small number of grants are available for organisations, community groups, local events, and activities that help to build public and political support for the Warm This Winter campaign. They are especially interested in supporting groups working in the areas of fuel poverty, housing, disability rights, climate justice, or on alternative solutions (e.g. energy co-ops).

There are three sizes of grants available: small (£200 to £500), medium (£500 to £5,000), and large (£5,000-£10,000). The deadline for applicants to the large grants is 28th October. Wirral Borough Council – Cost of Living CVF Grant Fund
Grants of up to £200,000 are available to organisations supporting Wirral residents facing financial hardship over the winter period. Applications close on 14 October 2022. Find out more here.

Wednesday 21 September

Asda Foundation Cost of Living Grant

This grant is designed to support local community groups following increases in their rent, utility bill and food costs as a result of the cost of living crisis. The submission deadline is February 2023, and you can obtain grants of between £500 and £2,000. Find out more about eligibility here.
